This Week in iPad Launch Extravaganza

Cold Open
Coming up on This Week in iPad, it's all about iPad 2!!!

Today, Andrea is hosting the show with special guest host Michelle Hummel. You can view more about Michelle here.

iPad Game of the Week
The game of the week this week comes from a favorite of Andrea's: Chillingo. Big Boss allows you to play the game as the boss and is very cute. Plus it's only $1.99 so it's well worth a look.

You have a lot of options when you want to buy or transfer your domain. Some of them are confusing, and try to trick you into making additional purchases of features you don't need. Hover wants to change all that. It's simple, neat, clean, and they're trying to make purchasing a domain EASIER. The prices are clearly labeled and don't change, and there are even helpful video tutorials on the front page to help you make decisions that are best for you. They don't have a "hold" system at Hover HQ. If you call them, the phone rings until someone picks it up and talks to you! Also, private registration is included in the price, they're the only registrar offering that. And you can create your own nameservers and A records. For a 10% discount, use promo code WEEK. To check it out, and buy your first domain, go to http://week.hover.com Also, to transfer a domain to Hover and waive the normal $25 fee, just call them at (866) 731-6556 and mention our code WEEK.
But wait, there's MORE!
We are giving away 2 $50 iTunes gift cards and all you need to do to enter is email your receipt from Hover to ipad@thisweekin.com for a chance to win. You can enter as many times as you like, but each entry has to be a transfer. So if you have 10 domains you'd like to transfer, send us all 10 receipts, and you'll be entered 10 times!
Also, thank them on twitter @hover.

iPad 2!
The show airs live every Friday at 4:30 so the iPad hadn't launched while the show was running. Andrea and Michelle concentrated on the differences between the original, and the iPad 2, and the so called "smart covers". As an aside, both Andrea and Michelle agree that having an iPad is a bonus for impressing women. Guys, take note.

Planet of the Apps

Music Apps
Andrea featured the foxL personal speaker.

Air Jam
Michell's first app this week comes from Pioneer Electronics. It's called Air Jam and it allows users to wirelessly stream music directly form your iPad to Pioneer electronic equipment. The app is basically designed as a value add for people who have purchased Pioneer receivers.

Vevo HD
Andrea's first app this week is Vevo HD. The app does require WiFi to work properly, but it features much more than just music videos. You can find info about your favorite artist, see their Twitter feed, and even find their concert schedule, and even purchase tickets right from the app.

SXSW Go
Michelle's next app is a topical one. It's for the South by Southwest Music, Film, and Interactive Festival in Austin, TX. The app is called SXSW GO and it provides users the ability to explore the event, and find out what's happening at the event. Plus it's free.

Discovr
Andrea's last app this week is called Discovr. It helps users discover new music based on what they like now. It shows branches of bands and artists related to the artists you enter. And you can see any band you'd like. It's a great way to discover new music, and preview and buy right from the app.

Winner: Andrea and Michelle agree that Discovr wins this week.

As always, you can tweet us @TWiiPad and you can always email the show at ipad@thisweekin.com.

Thanks for watching and we'll see you next week!
